Track Of The Day! Say It By Amity Rising

When it comes to music there’s few things I love more than cool, interesting sounds and this track definitely ticks that box for me. The beautiful acoustic approach the trio took to this classic song by Flume (Featuring Tove Lo) with guitars and violins is something very different to what we usually hear in the EDM scene at True Sound. Say It is an amazing new debut single for Amity Rising, Vancouver’s most captivating acoustic trio and they really have pulled out all the stops to produce something so different with the lovely warm vocals, classical instruments and the pure skill to pull it all together so well. The three all come from very different backgrounds in music which is what I think makes this track so unique and such an amazing listener experience. I know if this track is anything to go by they’re absolutely a force to be reckoned with! Can’t wait to hear more! Check out the track below!

Amity Rising are an acoustic trio who all come from diverse music backgrounds. M & Morgan started working together to collaborate on a DJ set including live violin and live vocals. During this process, they quickly realised that guitar chords were needed and so Justin was invited to join the project. After the set, we had a strong friendship and strong desire to continue working together. This resulted in our unique combination of warm vocals, hand-picked guitar, and classical violin.

MYNXY (Morgan) is an established West Coast singer, songwriter and DJ. She is known for her live vocals during her DJ sets which incorporate R&B, House, Bass, Hip Hop and D&B elements. In 2021 she released her debut EP titled "Get Down" with fellow Amity Rising artist Sullust (Justin Gilmaine).

Sullust (Justin) is a guitarist & DJ who has regularly worked alongside MYNXY to release several tracks over the past several years. He has also had several spots as part of Shambhala and regularly plays sets at Redroom Ultrabar.

M Gillian is a podcast host for True Sound Radio she goes by Phoenix, but that is only one of the many hats that she wears. She is also a faculty member at The University of British Columbia, a violin teacher at the Vancouver Academy of Music and Founder/Creative Director for the Elektribe Rave 'Zine.
